On-the-Job Training Program

Business Eligibility 

  • The business is located in Maricopa County
  • The business completes the On-the-Job application to determine eligibility.
  • The business is willing to enter into an On-the-Job Training contract.
  • A business should not have exhibited a pattern of failing to provide On-the-Job training participants with continued long-term employment with competitive wages, benefits, and working conditions that are equal to those provided to regular employees. 
  • The business agrees to pay at least 50 percent of the employee's wages during On-the-Job training.
  • Business understands that the employee(s) may not be terminated without prior notice to both employee(s) and to the Department, to provide opportunity for correction or improvement unless the Business deems the health or welfare of the employee(s) are endangered
  • Provide a Training Development Plan for each identified employee.
  • Provide a job description and training outline for each employee.
  • Business shall maintain and provide upon request time and payroll records to support reimbursements.
  • The business agrees to participate in program monitoring on a scheduled basis.
  • The business agrees to provide post-training performance report(s) quarterly for one (1) year.
  • The business shall offer medical benefits with at least 50% of the premiums paid by the employer.
  • The business agrees to provide employee(s) a wage increase upon successful completion of training or within a pre-determined time frame.
